Ecological solar cleaning

Environmentally friendly & effective solarcleaning

To maintain performance of soiled PV systems and solar plants and to minimize yield losses solar cleaning at regular intervals makes economic sense. At first sight the self-cleaning effect due to the roof slope, rain, wind and snow should make solar cleaning dispensable. However, practice shows that the self-cleaning effect for heavy dirt is not enough. In order to avoid yield losses solar cleaning is necessary. With a gentle and environmentally friendly solar cleaning the solar plant again reaches optimum yields.
Causes for excessive pollution of the photovoltaic modules.
Depending on local conditions a variety of causes is responsible for heavy soiling of PV modules. With only a slight inclination of the PV modules the self-cleaning effect no longer
works, so the deposits remain lying on the modules and cleaning is necessary. Furthermore, farms can reduce the yield of PV systems in the area, as they whirl up more dust which settles down on the modules and makes cleaning necessary. The most common culprits are, however, lichen, moss, pollen and calcium deposits. Things become downright nasty with bird- and bee excrements because these are baked into the glass and can only be removed with great difficulty, yield losses are inevitable here, too, which can be counteracted by solar cleaning. Medium soiling can cause performance loss of 8 to 20%. In case of heavy soiling yield losses of 20% or more are possible.

Photovoltaik cleaning

How does solar and photovoltaic cleaning work?
For the cleaning of photovoltaic and solar modules, we use high purity water. Since a number of module manufacturers prohibit any cleaning agents containing ingredients, it is recommended to use only organic solar cleaners, without tensides, chemicals and ingredients for heavier soiling. A thorough cleaning of solar modules is achieved with a Unger HiFlo soft glass brush, Unger Carbontec telescopic poles and special cleaning devices (ion filter, osmosis system), which greatly facilitate solar cleaning. After this treatment, it is recommended to rinse the modules with ultrapure water so that the remaining dirt is removed and the yield of the system increases. This cleaning method is not only very efficient but also environmentally friendly.

In addition, the specific requirements of the module manufacturer for solar cleaning are to be considered. Otherwise, our customers would be exposed to the risk of losing their warranty claims for the modules. We know these standards and put great emphasis on their compliance. In particular, the following must be observed:
No cleaning with high pressure systems not to damage seals and splices through the cleaning
Avoidance of temperature differences greater than 20 ° C.
Using soft non-rotating brushes for cleaning to avoid micro cracks on the waver side

Solar Cleaning for best price

Especially in low-light winter months, a clean facility and fast switching times of the inverter is critical. Due to dirty modules, the inverters switch later on and earlier off. During the winter months the solar output is reduced anyway and should be utilized 100%! Short duty cycles of the inverter, due to the soiled PV modules increase attrition of the inverter and may result in the need of an early replacement. Furthermore, the surface of a PV module which is cleaned in autumn / winter is smooth, the snow slides off earlier the cold sunny days with the highest yield can be optimally used. Nothing more annoying than a snow-covered roof in a sunny week in January.
